The words I wish someone had handed me

I'm a birth educator, doula, wife, and mother of three daughters. I gave birth to my first two in the hospital and welcomed my youngest at home, in peace. Somewhere between those births I learned how much the words a mother holds onto shape what she feels when labor gets hard.
